The best skincare routine for men in an AC office

Cold, dry office air pulls moisture from your skin all day. The fix isn't ten products. It's three steps, done consistently.

Why AC is hard on your skin

Air conditioning cools the air by drying it. Spend a full day in it and your skin loses water faster than usual. Many men notice it as a tight feeling after lunch, flaky patches around the nose, or skin that looks oily and dry at the same time. That last one is common: when the surface feels dry, skin can look shinier.

The 3-step routine

You don't need a shelf of products. These three steps cover what AC-office skin needs:

  • Morning: wash with a gentle face cleanser (30 seconds). Body soap and shower gel are usually too harsh for the face and leave it tight.
  • Morning: a light gel moisturizer, then sunscreen. Gel textures sink in fast and don't feel greasy under a shirt collar. Sunscreen still matters: you're outside on the commute and near windows.
  • Night: wash off the day, then moisturize again. Night is when you can use a treatment step, like a serum, if you have one.

Small office habits that help

Drink water through the day. Don't sit with the AC vent blowing straight at your face if you can move. Skip hot water on your face; lukewarm is kinder. And if your skin feels tight by 3 PM, a little moisturizer in the afternoon is fine.
